Job fair for differently abled persons

Cheshire Homes of Coimbatore, a city-based NGO, as part of their Livelihood Resource Centre (LRC) project, will organise a job fair for the differently abled persons.

Cheshire Homes Coimbatore launched the LRC project in 2011 to provide job skills training to differently abled people aged between 18 and 40 years. The programme offers courses in spoken English, career counselling, tailoring and embroidery, front office management, basic and advanced computers besides life skills.

The event’s purpose is to create employment opportunities for these specific group. More than 30 companies from the city are expected to take part.

Cheshire Homes Coimbatore expects around 500 differently abled people with post graduate, undergraduates, diploma and engineering degrees to take part.

The fair will also offer opportunities for entry level jobs seekers as well as for those with work experience in the Information Technology (IT), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), financial services, industries, retail and hospitality sectors.
