Adventure camp

Mountaineering Adventure Sports Society will host an Outdoor Adventure Camp at the Thirumurthy Hills in Tirupur district and the Kodaikanal forest area between September 21 and October 2.

This camp is aimed at showing children the beauty of nature and helping them learn basic survival skills.According to a press release, the camp will send children on trekking, rock climbing, rappelling, river crossing, and cave exploration sessions, besides teaching them teamwork, group living, and basic survival and rescue techniques.The duration of each camp will be three days and is limited to 50 students. 

Children must be at least 11 years old to take part. Registration will begin September 18 and will be on a ‘first-come first-serve’ basis.In addition, the Society will undertake two Himalayan expeditions in Himachal Pradesh.The first will leave to Baralacha La from October 6 to 21. This trip has no age limit.

The other trip, which will be only for women above 15 years, will proceed to Chander Tal and the Deo Tibba Base camp from November 17 to December 3.
