German delegation to visit Coimbatore

Representatives of eight German companies will meet the small-scale industries in a one-to-one meeting to be held here on September 28.

The meeting is organised by the Coimbatore District Small Industries’ Association (CODISSIA) and the German Engineering Federation (VDMA India). The VDMA members will also visit some foundries and engineering units here. The business interaction will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The participants include manufacturers of bakery machines, automation machinery, system partner of machine tool industry, agricultural tools, and pumpset covers.

They are looking for suppliers of CNC parts, castings, components, electrical control panels, forging products, agricultural implements, and belt conveyors. Some of them want to expand their supplier base and some others want new partners.

CODISSIA has a tie-up with the VDMA. Such one-to-one meetings and industrial visits are organised based on demand and not regularly. The industries here are facing a slow down in orders in the domestic and international markets and the German manufacturers want suppliers. Hence, it was decided to organise the two-day event, says the CODISSIA President R. Ramachandran.

Already over 50 small-scale industries here have registered with the association for the meeting. Those interested can contact the CODISSIA for details.
