will launch the ‘Gift of Literacy’ campaign here on August 15 to mobilise
books, magazines, novels, and audio-visual learning resources that can be used
by students from standards I to Plus-Two.
Students of the institute
will visit residences and educational institutions to collect the same from
residents and students. Book donation drop boxes will also be placed in various
locations to enable people contribute for the campaign. The initiative is for a
month and will end on September 15. Books collected will be segregated and
distributed to schools on October 13 (Saraswathi Pooja). The initiative is not
only to help needy children studying in Government and Government-aided
schools, but also enrich the libraries in these schools. Those interested in
contributing, can contact the institute or drop books at the boxes kept at
various locations.
