ATA Expo 2013
The Department of Social Work of Bharathiar University will organise an ‘Assistive Technology and Accessibility’ (ATA) Expo here from July 19 to 21 on the occasion of the inauguration of the Disability Resource Centre.
The expo will be held with the theme of ‘A Way Forward for Inclusion’ in association with CBM – SARO, Bangalore. It is expected to create awareness on the recent trends / developments in the field of disability services, assistive technology, importance of higher education and equal opportunities in employment through accessibility.
More than 5,000 school and college students, special educators, parents of children with disability and members from Government and non-Governmental organisations working for disability.
Conference sessions will focus on higher education, accessibility, employment, and equal opportunities for people with disabilities. Cultural events will be performed by persons with disabilities. The expo will also focus on motivating children with disabilities to take up higher education, and also enrol students in affiliated colleges of Bharathiar University. The organising committee invites organisations working for disabilities to attend and share their experiences, innovation in overcoming disabilities, etc.
