கோவை, திருப்பூர், ஈரோடு ஆகிய மாவட்டங்களில் பாரதியார் பல்கலையின் கீழ் இயங்கும் ஏழு சமுதாய கல்லூரிகளில், டிப்ளமோ மற்றும் சான்றிதழ் படிப்பு பயிலும் மாணவர்களுக்கான தேர்வு, டிசம்பரில் நடக்கிறது. தேர்வெழுதும் மாணவர்கள், நவ., 11ம் தேதிக்குள் விண்ணப்பிக்க வேண்டும்; 100 ரூபாய் அபராதத்துடன் நவ., 15ம் தேதிக்குள் விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம்.

Photography competition

The Department of Communication and Media Studies of Bharathiar University will conduct an inter-collegiate photography competition and exhibition.

Students are invited to submit photographs before September 16 on the theme ‘Identities’. Works of professional photographers will be on display. Prizes worth Rs. 5,000, Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 1,000 are to be won by first, second and third prize winners respectively.

Free aptitude training for graduates

The Department of Extension and Career Guidance of Bharathiar University will conduct aptitude training for arts, commerce, and science graduates, who have passed out in 2012. The training is for four weeks and will be held in collaboration with an ITES company from the first week of October.

The free training will focus on basic communication skills, mathematical aptitude, logical reasoning, mental application and interpersonal communication in professional context.

Engineering graduates and post graduates are not eligible to attend. The company will conduct a placement interview of the trained candidates for back-end support service in banking and accounting.

National Seminar – Biodiversity Informatics

The Department of Bioinformatics of Bharathiar University will organise a national seminar on “Biodiversity Informatics” on August 30.

It will be inaugurated by K.N.G. Ganeshaish, Professor, Department of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore.

Experts from other universities will serve as resource persons.

National Seminar on “People Management for Quality Enhancement in Higher Education”

Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Bharathiar University will organise a national seminar on ‘People Management for Quality Enhancement in Higher Education’. 

The keynote address will be delivered by M.S. Shyamasundar, Deputy Advisor (Regional Co-ordinator –Southern Region), National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore.

G. James Pitchai, Vice-Chancellor of the university, will preside over the seminar.

Entrance examination for M.Phil; Ph.D.

Bharathiar University

The Common Entrance Test to apply for M.Phil/Ph.D. programmes of Bharathiar University will be held on July 14.

Nearly 4,300 candidates have applied for the test and the hall tickets for these candidates have already been dispatched.

The centre-wise list of candidates who applied for the test is available on the university website www.b-u.ac.in/www.buc.edu.in.

The examination will be held in the following centres:

SNR Sons College and Hindusthan College of Arts and Science in Coimbatore.

Vellalar College for Women and Chikkaiah Naicker College in Erode.

Park’s College in Tirupur.

Government Arts College in Udhagamandalam.

Those who have not received hall tickets till July 13 can collect a duplicate from one of the centres by producing a copy of the application, a passport size photograph, and a valid photo identity proof.

ATA Expo 2013

ATA Expo 2013

The Department of Social Work of Bharathiar University will organise an ‘Assistive Technology and Accessibility’ (ATA) Expo here from July 19 to 21 on the occasion of the inauguration of the Disability Resource Centre.

The expo will be held with the theme of ‘A Way Forward for Inclusion’ in association with CBM – SARO, Bangalore. It is expected to create awareness on the recent trends / developments in the field of disability services, assistive technology, importance of higher education and equal opportunities in employment through accessibility.

More than 5,000 school and college students, special educators, parents of children with disability and members from Government and non-Governmental organisations working for disability.

Conference sessions will focus on higher education, accessibility, employment, and equal opportunities for people with disabilities. Cultural events will be performed by persons with disabilities. The expo will also focus on motivating children with disabilities to take up higher education, and also enrol students in affiliated colleges of Bharathiar University. The organising committee invites organisations working for disabilities to attend and share their experiences, innovation in overcoming disabilities, etc.

National Eligibility Test

Bharathiar University, will conduct the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test (NET) for eligibility for lectureship and junior research fellowship, here on June 30.

The test will begin at 9.30 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. It will be held across seven centres in Coimbatore. A total of 8,442 candidates have registered under 48 subjects. There are 78 physically challenged and 27 visually challenged candidates. Arrangements for scribes have been made at all the centres.

Visually challenged candidates can contact the superintendents / principals of the respective test centres for request of scribes.

Those who have registered online and not submitted their hard copies will also be permitted to appear for the examination, provided they bring two copies of their application, attendance sheet and a photo ID card issued by any authority.
