கோவையில் நடைபெறும் கலை இலக்கிய நிகழ்ச்சிகள், கருத்தரங்கங்கள், கண்காட்சிகள், பயிற்சி முகாம்கள், வர்த்தக நிகழ்ச்சிகள் ஆகியவை குறித்த தகவல்களை ஓரே தளத்தில் தொகுக்கும் முயற்சியை கடந்த ஆண்டு ஆரம்பித்தோம்.

Kids for Tigers

Sanctuary Asia invites schools to join a ‘Kids for Tigers’ programme in the city.

Sanctuary Asia , India’s premier wildlife and ecology magazine, is involved in a national level project called “Kids for Tigers” since 2000. The project comes to Coimbatore. Environmentalist Saleem Mohammed has been nominated as its city co-ordinator.

Founding Editor of Sanctuary Asia , Bittu Sahgal, impressed with Saleem’s work with nature and environment, asked him to launch the programme in Coimbatore. Sanctuary Asia will provide the resource people and films and other aids to the schools and even set aside a budget for school outings. Saleem has a network of experts in and around Coimbatore who will also be a part of the team.

Schools can enrol for the project. It is free of cost.

It is for students from Classes III to IX. (Students of Classes VII and above will be taken on field trips while the younger ones will have activities within the school premises through films and talks).

Teachers who are in charge of the institution’s eco/nature club will be trained.

Children who are members of the clubs will also be given training.

There will be a regional mela at the end of a few months where children will share what they have learnt.

Bank loan for solar projects

With several industries, households, and commercial establishments evincing interest in solar energy, banks are offering loans for small-scale solar projects.

For instance, Canara Bank is offering loans to job working power loom units that want to establish solar systems. Some banks offer special loan schemes for solar projects and some others extend loan as they regularly do for the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector. One of the bankers said that there were several enquiries from the MSME sector.

The State Government has come out with a solar policy and the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy provides subsidy for solar projects. Since the district suffered long hours of power cut till a few weeks ago, the industries and commercial establishments are looking at tapping solar power.

R. Ramachandran, president of the Coimbatore District Small Industries’ Association, said banks should create awareness among the MSME sector on the loan schemes.They should extend the loan at special interest rates. The regular interest rate hovered between 12.75 per cent and 15.25 per cent for these units. Loans should be offered at 10 per cent or 11 per cent for solar projects. The MSMEs would go for solar projects only when loans are offered at lower interest rate, he said.

Rathinavani 90.8 fm, the community radio of the Rathinam Group of Educational Institutions, is organising a competition ‘Rathinam Freedom Artist’ for college students.

The competitions will be voice-related.  Students from engineering, arts and science, and polytechnic colleges, can attend.

The winning team will receive Rs. 10,000 and an overall trophy.

பிளஸ்1 வகுப்புகள் 24ல் துவக்கம்

கோவை வருவாய் மாவட்டத்தில் பிளஸ்1 வகுப்புகள் வரும் 24ம் தேதி துவங்கும்.

கடந்த மே 31ம் தேதி எஸ்.எஸ்.எல்.சி., தேர்வு முடிவுகள் வெளியானதை தொடர்ந்து பிளஸ்1 வகுப்புகளில் மாணவர்கள் சேர்க்கை துவங்கியது. 

தனியார் பள்ளிகளில் மாணவர்கள் சேர்க்கை 95 சதவீதம் முடிந்துள்ள நிலையில். சில தனியார் பள்ளிகளில் பிளஸ் 1 வகுப்புகள் முன்பே துவங்கி வகுப்புகள் நடந்து வருகின்றன.அரசு பள்ளிகளில் தொடர்ந்து மாணவர்கள் சேர்க்கை நடந்து வருகிறது. எஸ்.எஸ்.எல்.சி., தேர்வில் தேர்ச்சி பெற்ற மாணவர் களுக்கு வரும் ஜூன் 20ம் தேதி மாணவர்களின் மதிப்பெண் பட்டியல் அந்தந்த பள்ளிகளின் வாயிலாக வழங்கப்பட்டு,வேலை வாய்ப்புக்கு, "ஆன்-லைன்' முறையில் பதிவு செய்யப்பட உள்ளது. தனித்தேர்வர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் தேர்வு எழுதிய மையங்களில் மதிப்பெண் பட்டியலை பெற்றுக்கொள்ளலாம் என்று அறிவுறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.

Central Bank to expand network

Central Bank of India plans to add 10 more branches in Coimbatore region in 2013-2014.

The bank covered eight districts in Coimbatore region and had 43 branches in the region.

Apart from increasing the number of branches, it would have about 75 ATMs by the end of the year.

முதுகலை விண்ணப்பம் வினியாகம் துவக்கம்

கோவை அரசு கலை அறிவியல் கல்லூரியில் முதுகலை பட்டப்படிப்புகளுக்கான விண்ணப்ப வினியோகம் நடைபெறுகிறது.

அரசு கலை அறிவியல் கல்லூரியில் 21 இளங்கலை படிப்புகளும், 16 முதுகலை படிப்புகளும் பயிற்றுவிக்கப்படுகிறது. இவை காலை மாலை என இருசுழற்சி முறைகளில் இயங்குகின்றது.

பாரதியார் பல்கலை தேர்வு முடிவுகள் வெளியாகி 10 நாட்கள் வரை விண்ணப்பங்கள் வழங்கப்படுகின்றன.

அம்மா உணவகத்தில் ‘இ-டோக்கன்’ முறை

கோவை மாநகராட்சியில் மொத்தம் 10 இடங்களில் ‘அம்மா உணவகம்’ துவங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இங்கு இட்லி ஒன்று ஒரு ருபாய், சாம்பார் சாதம் ஐந்து ரூபாய், தயிர் சாதம் மூன்று ருபாய்க்கு விற்கப்படுகிறது.

இந்த உணவகங்களில் ரசீது முறைக்கு மாற்றாக ‘இ-டோக்கன்’ முறையை கொண்டு வர திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இட்லிக்கு வெள்ளை, சாம்பார் சாதத்திற்கு பச்சை, தயிர் சாதத்திற்கு வெள்ளை நிறத்தில் ‘ஸ்மார்ட் கார்டு’ வழங்கப்படும். உணவு வேண்டுவோர் பணம் செலுத்தியதும் ‘ஸ்மார்ட் கார்டு’ இயந்திரத்தில் காண்பித்து, உணவு எண்ணிக்கையை குறிப்பிட்டு, அந்த கார்டை கையில் கொடுத்துவிடுவார்.  உணவு வழங்குபவர் அந்த கார்டை பெற்று, இயந்திரத்தில் காண்பித்ததும், எவ்வளவு உணவு என்பது தெரிந்துவிடும்.

இந்த முறையால் ஒவ்வொரு உணவகத்திலும் விற்பனை விபரத்தை ‘ஆன்–லைன்’ மூலம் மாநகராட்சி அலுவலகத்தில் இருந்து கொண்டே தெரிந்து கொள்ள முடியும்.
