Workshop for folk artistes

The Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS) is conducting a workshop for folk artistes who are part of Information Education Communication (IEC) activities in rural areas.

Who was in city recently, troupes from several districts would attend the programme.

 The focus would be on delivery of message. A team from National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), the division under Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare that leads HIV/AIDS control programmes in India, will also take part.

Coimbatore Peace Festival

Coimbatore Peace Festival

Shanti Ashram will conduct Coimbatore Peace Festival 2013, in an effort to engage children and young people in peace building initiatives.

Over 1,500 students from 50 schools and colleges, and 50 leaders of youth organisations will participate in the festival. The objectives of the festival include observing the 68^th year of the bombing of Hiroshima as a day of prayer and commitment for peace, conducting ‘learning to live together’ workshop for 200 children, organising inter-generational conversation on building peace, honouring young volunteers who have led community service initiatives, and presenting thematic presentations by children and youth.

The occasion will also be used to launch Phase II of ‘Poverty Solutions’, an initiative by students in eradicating poverty.

Training in Bee keeping

Training in Bee keeping

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University will organise a training in bee keeping.

Hands-on training will be imparted in identification of bee species and social organisation of bees, rearing Indian bees in boxes, general and seasonal management and bee forage among others. 

Interested candidates have to reach the Department of Entomology before 9 a.m. 

The fee of Rs. 250 has to be remitted. A certificate will be given at the end of the training.

Training in bakery products

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University will organise a training in preparing novel bakery products. The training will cover varieties of breads, cakes, and biscuits.
